They were being taught secrets handed down about the use of real ingredients within timeless recipes. They were learning how to feel and smell and taste traditional ingredients and the joy of their hard work wafting through the air in their own kitchen. They learned to make traditional home cooked meals, desserts, cakes and sweet biscuits all from scratch using the finest ingredients mum could supply. These skills were to supply countless school fetes and parties with lovingly produced goods famous throughout their district and beyond. Crumbs Yarra Valley Gourmet Biscuits was born in 2008 and a shop was secured in beautiful Marysville Victoria. Nine months later Black Saturday took the town the shop and all equipment with it. Lying in the burnt remains was Kerrie’s treasured recipe book and a couple of hand biscuit cutters untouched.
